Things to Do

 
The Tampa Bay area has a packed events calendar and some of the most popular events take place in South Tampa. In March, the Taste of South Tampa features live music, beer tents, and fantastic food from the best local restaurants. Bern’s Winefest is a week-long festival organized by Bern’s Steakhouse and the Epicurean Hotel that showcases award-winning wines from across the world.
 
Many other food festivals are within easy reach of South Tampa, such as Taste at the Straz Arts Center and Tampa Pig Jig at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Special events are frequently staged at Hyde Park Village, including art fairs, yoga classes, and pop- up retailers.
 
The Gasparilla Pirate Festival is one of the largest events in South Tampa. Commemorating the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar, the Gasparilla Festival includes the third-largest parade in the United States. Gasparilla festivals take place from January to March and include a celebratory boat invasion parade, a family-friendly children’s parade, an illuminated night parade in Ybor City, music and film festivals, and countless parties and galas across the city.
